- Mar 18, 2017 stuck on medium hello as title says my graphics are stuck on medium. I cant imagine my computer is the issue since ive been playing shogun 2 and warhammer total war on ultra settings with no problems and this is a older game.
- I just updated my drivers for my GTX 280 graphics card and now Empire total War wont displayy cities or towns in the campaign map on either multiplayer or single player. Did a search online and found others were having similar issues but no known fixes. Mainly reporting it and hoping it gets fixed soon or if anyone could help me out thx!

Empire Total War Ultra Graphics
hello everyone!
I had e:tw from the day of it's release here in the states, and at first i hated it. but after watching a friend of mine play it, i decided to get back into it.
one of the things that really bugged me before was that for some reason when i tried to change the graphics options it wouldn't let me go past 'medium' for anything! I'm assuming this is because etw doesn't think my comp can handle anything past medium, but i just wanted to make sure i wasn't missing out on anything that could help me out with this little issue.
i played m2tw with everything set to the highest possible graphic settings and ultra large unit scales. i realize that the graphics in etw are much improved from those in m2tw, but i can also play games like oblivion at ultra high settings and other things.
i've got a $2000 macbook pro with vista installed via bootcamp, and can play any other game with much higher settings. is it a driver problem or something?
anyways, thanks for the help guys, it's much appreciated. i've got to go start up my swedish campaign.

| posted 09-02-07 01:46 AM EDT (US) I have come across a very strange issue. I just installed aoe3 on my laptop understand that it can't handle aoe3 at it's full glory. When I loaded it up the in game graphics were all jumbled up but the menus still worked. So I played around with the setting untill it finaly looked proper. My issue is the shader setting. When set to low it works well, if set to high the graphics are jumbled and nothing looks as it should be. The problem is when it's set to medium the game kicks me out. My issue in discovering that setting it to medium will get me kicked out of the game, I no longer am able to change it back to low cause the game crashes every time I get to the menu screen. Is there anyway of reseting defaults outside of game play? I just want to set my shader to low but It won't let me do it. Help | |

NOTE: Make a backup of your NewProfile.xml file in case im wrong and it messes it up even more Disclaimer: i cannot guarantee this will work, its only my best guess, the file i've pointed you at is the correct one to edit though.
